NRA is looking for a Senior Architect to lead it's office and exciting high quality, innovative design projects in Sri Lanka. 

The ideal candidate should have effective management and team leadership skills, strong design sensibilities, excellent technical skills, a flexible mentality, and experience managing all stages of a project, from concept through construction.

Requirements:

- Sri Lanka Chartered Architect (Preferred).

- A minimum of ten years of experience, with extensive experience in built international and local projects of varying scales.

- Extensive coordination experience with clients, contractors, and consultants.

- Excellent communication, budget control, planning, and organisational skills.

- Excellent aesthetic sensibilities and design skills.

- Excellent Technical experience/skills with the ability to resolve architectural solutions through innovative thinking (Documented through construction and shop drawings/details).

- Effective project management and team-leading abilities.

- Excellent knowledge of products, materials, and construction methods, especially in Sri Lanka/Asia.

- Proactive and self-motivated, with a continuous desire to both learn from and mentor others.

- Responsible, accountable, and able to foresee risks and solve conflicts in projects.

- Working knowledge of 3D+2D software (Rhinoceros, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, etc.)

fluent English and Sinhala communication skills.

- Willing and able to assist in building a world class office and team based in Sri Lanka, including setting up relevant standards, processes, quality plans, etc.

Nath was lead designer for a collaborative entry involving YIA Architecture Design Consultancy (Chengdu, China), Frederik Dolmans (Principal Architect at GroundUP, Beijing), and Michael Rogers (Urban Designer at Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill, Hong Kong).

UNStudio is a multi-award winning Dutch-international firm specializing in full service architecture, urban development, and infrastructural projects.

Nath was involved with the Guocoland (Singapore) China 18 Steps Shiibati Development in Chongqing, China.

"Communal Living with a Sense of Style and Living - Nisala Villa is a new villa from Nath Rankothge & Associates that stands as a fusion of the traditional and contemporary, and Sri Lankan and Western sensibilities."

Nath was working on the Aukett Swanke technical design and construction packages for the 10 Trinity Square redevelopment. The project involved the heritage restoration, conversion, and contemporary addition to the historic Beaux-Arts Grade II* listed former Port of London Authority building in the City of London. The program includes a Four Seasons Hotel with associated specialty restaurants, retail, bars, event and conference facilities, health club, spa, private residences, and landscaping.

Nath collaborated with PWA Architects on a creative office campus for a growing Sri Lankan based international conglomerate. The company is looking to relocate key offices from existing headquarters at World Trade Centre towers to an inspiring, forward thinking environment.

Nath was involved on the Waterfront Integrated Resort (US$650million+, 422,000m2 international luxury mixed-use development under-construction) in Colombo, Sri Lanka as a Site Architect for Balmond Studio (Engineer & Lead Designer/Consultant). Balmond Studio is "a research based practice headquartered in London, involved in consulting, architecture, exhibitions, installations, product design, and art".

Nisala Villa is a fusion of vernacular and contemporary, Sri Lankan and Western sensibilities. Located along the village high road in the countryside of Kandy, a UNESCO World Heritage city, the villa aims to respond to the rich architectural and cultural heritage, tropical mountain landscape and climate.

Nath has been profiled on the Australian Institute of Architects International website and November E-News.
